compact spotting scope, decent optics

I recently purchased a ATHLON CRONUS and used it for a long range shooting course out to 1200 yds. This is a smaller, compact scope, and very carriable as compared to most large scopes you see at a range. I like the focus adjustments, with a fast dial and fine adjustment dial located directly above the mounting point. It has a very good wide field of view. As a comparison, my shooting partner was using a high end Swarovski spotting scope. My Cronus had a much better field of view, and was easier to see the trace of bullets in flight. On the other hand, the resolution of my Cronus was not as good, and I found it harder to see splash on shots past 600-700 yds. Overall, the Cronus is quite a bit lower cost than the comparison I was using, is much more portable, and decent value. For serious long range shooters, with the smaller lens, it doesn't have the same resolution as higher end scopes.
